DUE TUESDAY - Clare Dunn

Please choose THREE of the following questions to answer. The find an article/statistics to back up your opinion.

Sister Clare Dunn Forum Discussion
1. What is your recommendation on how immigrants, specifically those without documentation, should be treated?
a. Are our present immigration laws working? If not, how could they be fixed – for those immigrants already in the U.S. and for those who want to immigrate? (Possibilities include amnesty, deportation, some form of path to citizenship which may include a waiting period, mastery of English, passing a citizenship test, etc.)
2. Should the United States build a fence along the U.S. – Mexico border as a first step in immigration reform?
3. Should the U.S. Congress attempt to amend the Constitution to ensure that babies born to illegal immigrants do not automatically become citizens, as is now the case?
4. In what ways do illegal immigrants enrich our culture and society?
5. In terms of economic costs and benefits, are illegal immigrants a positive or negative for the U.S. economy as a whole?
6. Why don’t our political leaders seem to have the will to tackle immigration reform, which almost everyone seems to agree needs to happen sooner or later?

2nd quarter Prayer

Prayer for Peace – 2nd Quarter prayer – sign up by December Finals

This quarter’s prayer assignment is to find an article about a current situation in the world that needs prayer. This could be a variety of things from wars, to poverty, to attacks, etc. Print out the article that you find and then write a prayer for the situation. You will turn in both the article and your prayer. In addition you will create a small info sheet about what needs prayer in that part of the world. These will be put up on the prayer for peace map. These should be typed and eye catching.
